Mrs Hurley is the wife of his His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), the Governor of New South Wales.

 

Mrs Hurley had a long career in education until her retirement from full time teaching in July 2011. She has been an active member of the community as a Pastoral Carer at the Canberra Hospital and Hospice, and a supporter of Meals on Wheels. She also has a passion for the arts, in particular singing.

 

Mrs Hurley hosted the staff and women of Lou’s Place at Government House and became the Patron of Lou’s Place in June 2017.

Sally Loane

Sally Loane is Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Services Council, the peak body for superannuation funds, funds management companies, trustees and life insurance companies.

Prior to this Sally has had a long career in the corporate sector, working at Coca-Cola Amatil as the Director of Media and Public Affairs, and in the media industry, where she was a journalist and broadcaster for Australia's major print, radio and television media organisations. She is also a published author.

Sally has had a long association with Lou's Place and is an active supporter of our service.

She was MC at The Marmalade Foundation's Dance Party to celebrate Lou's Place 10th birthday and was moderator at a domestic violence panel discussion we held in October 2014 to promote awareness of women's issues.
