What we do
11 May 2016
Lou's Place has been consulted on the design of a new residential home for aged homeless people in Darlinghurst.
Our views were requested by HammondCare, an independent Christian charity health and aged care provider which plans to create the 46-bed home next to St John's Church.
They aim to provide long-term accommodation and high care clinical support to homeless people aged over 55.
Our key recommendation was the inclusion of a women-only floor.
Chief Executive of HammondCare, Dr Stephen Judd, said the project would fill a major service provision in the area which has the state's highest concentration of aged homeless people.
