Lou’s Staff Team

Amanda (Mandy) joined Lou’s Place in March 2022, bringing over 20 years of leadership experience across a broad range of community services.

Her career spans disability, homelessness, domestic and family violence, youth services, child protection, early intervention, and gambling support. She is highly experienced in managing complex, multi-service environments and is deeply committed to social justice.

Mandy’s approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and a non-judgemental mindset, with a strong focus on supporting women who are often marginalised or overlooked.

She is known for her supportive and collaborative leadership style, creating an environment where staff feel empowered to deliver the same level of care and dignity to the women they support.

Genavieve (Gena) joined Lou’s Place in June 2021 and stepped into her role as Project Manager in early 2026. With over 10 years’ experience across community services and healthcare, she specialises in therapeutic case management, group facilitation, and program development, supporting women with complex needs.

Her work focuses on strengthening programs and creating environments that support safe, consistent support for both the women who access Lou’s and the team who support them.

She brings a creative and collaborative approach to her work, using it to problem-solve and develop systems grounded in the realities of service delivery, guided by authenticity, non-judgement, and a commitment to recognising women as the experts in their own lives.

Hannah joined Lou’s Place in September 2022 and transitioned into her leadership role in November 2023. With over 10 years’ experience in client-facing roles and a Diploma of Community Services, she brings a strong foundation in supporting individuals across a range of settings.

Hannah’s approach is warm, welcoming, and grounded in trauma-informed practice, with a focus on meeting women where they are. She is passionate about promoting autonomy and dignity, ensuring every woman feels respected, supported, and empowered in her choices.

Jenni joined Lou’s Place in December 2023 as a Client Services and Administration Officer.
She brings over 20 years of experience in administrative roles, alongside a Diploma of Community Services, and made the transition into the sector to support her community in a more meaningful way.
Jenni is often the first point of contact and creates a calm, welcoming environment for women arriving at Lou’s.

She is known for her compassion and empathy, building genuine connections and offering steady, supportive presence to women navigating challenging circumstances.

Shauna joined Lou’s Place in December 2024 as a Client Services Officer and quickly progressed into case management and a senior role within the team. Recently taking on the Programs Manager role Shauna overseas three distinct programs at Lou’s Place; Always Mum, Connecting Through Change and Stability First plus our Drop-In services. With a strong focus on homelessness and a background in child protection, she brings both practical experience and compassion to her work.

Shauna’s approach is grounded in building trust, consistency, and creating a safe space for women to engage. She is deeply valued by the women of Lou’s for her warmth, reliability, and genuine care.

Lizzie joined Lou’s Place as a Psychology graduate, committed to building a meaningful career in the mental health sector.
She brings experience supporting individuals and groups experiencing acute mental health challenges, working through a trauma-informed and compassionate lens.

Lizzie’s approach focuses on understanding each woman’s unique experience and supporting her at her own pace. She is driven by a belief that strengthening individual wellbeing is key to creating lasting, positive change across communities.

Siena joined Lou’s Place in early 2024, bringing a background in mental health and a Bachelor of Social Work. She is known for her warm, down-to-earth nature and her ability to create a safe, non-judgemental space for women.

Siena’s approach is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and connection, guided by the belief that women are the experts in their own lives. She is passionate about walking alongside women as they heal, grow, and reconnect with their sense of self.

Renee joined Lou’s Place with over a decade of experience across child and family support, AOD, and crisis intervention.
Her work is deeply grounded in supporting Aboriginal communities, with a strong focus on culturally safe, strengths-based, and self-determined outcomes. She holds diplomas in Aboriginal Community Development, Counselling, Case Management, and AOD.

Renee’s approach is driven by advocacy, respect, and a commitment to equitable access to support. She is passionate about supporting women through complex challenges while challenging systemic barriers and ensuring their voices are heard.

Katie joined Lou’s Place with a strong background in social work and criminology, supporting women, young people, and families across Ireland and Australia.
Her experience spans child protection, domestic and family violence, tenancy support, and aged care, providing a broad understanding of complex needs.

Katie’s approach is grounded in non-judgmental, low-barrier support, aligned closely with the values of Lou’s Place and the Always Mum program. She is passionate about walking alongside women, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and supported to move forward on their own terms.

Susan joined Lou’s Place in April 2024, bringing extensive experience across finance, operations, and leadership roles in both not-for-profit and commercial organisations.
A Chartered Accountant with a background spanning the arts, community sector, and corporate environments, Susan has led complex finance functions, supported organisational strategy, and worked closely with leadership teams to strengthen systems and processes.

Her approach combines strong financial expertise with a practical, collaborative style, ensuring the organisation remains sustainable while supporting its day-to-day work.
Susan plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of Lou’s Place, helping ensure the organisation can continue to provide consistent, accessible support to women in the community.
